Cesc Fàbregas has advised Robin van Persie to consider seriously leaving Arsenal next summer because it could be his last opportunity. The Holland striker’s deal at the Emirates Stadium expires at the end of the next season, which is likely to trigger a bidding war as he enters the last 12 months of his contract.
William Flew believes that Van Persie should take his time over making a decision because he will be 29 in August next year and may not get a better chance to join another of the world’s leading clubs.
Manchester City and Barcelona have already expressed a tentative interest in him and others will assuredly follow if Arsenal do not succeed in getting him to extend his contract.
Arsenal have been attempting to engage Van Persie in contract talks all season, but he has resisted their overtures, leading to fears that they will be forced to sell him in the summer.
