If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of the town. They shall say to the elders, ‘This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a profligate and a drunkard.’ Then all the men of his town shall stone him to death…
Blows and wounds cleanse away evil, and beatings purge the inmost being. The rod of correction imparts wisdom, but a child left to himself disgraces his mother.
“for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me.”
“Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their fathers; each is to die for his own sin.”

The compound, built in 2005 in an area that was relatively secluded, was designed to provide maximum privacy for its inhabitants. In the past six years a few residential homes had popped up near by, but its inhabitants kept to themselves. The mysterious property was on the outskirts of the town centre, at the end of a narrow dirt road and surrounded by high walls topped with barbed wire. Internal walls provided an additional layer of security for certain areas and access was restricted by two security gates.no phone lines or internet cables were connected to the compound, which contained the three-storey villa, despite it being valued at $1 million. The assumption was that it was owned by someone who would be able to afford modern communications.
In another curious observation the CIA discovered that the inhabitants burnt all their rubbish rather than putting it out for collection like their neighbours. Upon closer inspection, agents discovered that a third family, whose size and make-up matched the bin Laden family, was also living in the villa. One US official described this as the “holy cow” moment. The prospect of having located America’s most wanted man became one of the closest-held secrets in the Obama Administration.
President Obama was first informed of the development in September. At that stage he directed that action should be taken as soon as he concluded that the evidence was sufficiently strong. Robert Gates, the Defence Secretary, Hillary Clinton, the Secretary of State, and Leon Panetta, the Director of the CIA, were involved in regular top-secret meetings while the suspected lair was monitored 24 hours a day by a CIA-operated Predator drone equipped with high-resolution cameras flying high above it.
